How to Deal With the Most Common Hosted PBX Providers Issues


Communication is progressively growing as a crucial element in the domain of business. Today, there are more than 75% of the business enterprises that have been opting for a hosted network to enable the easy drift of business communication through the complex digital network. There are a number of issues that arise during the setup, installation and working of this hosted infrastructure. Some of the most common ones are:

·         Right pay for the right features: Different business organizations have varied business requirements. Moreover, the small business firms that opt for the use of Hosted PBX systems may not have vast requirements of features in the beginning. There are often many providers that increase the billing of your system if some additional features are added to the system at a later point of time. This increases the total cost to a considerable amount and thus, the choice of this provider does not seem to be such a feasible option.

·         Agreements and Hidden Expenses: There are many Hosted PBX providers that lure customers through the attractive set of features that they offer at reduced rates. However, they later reveal that some of the fixed or rental expenses are hidden or some additional costs crop up. Moreover, there are often certain agreements or contracts that bind the users to the enterprise for a certain amount of time. During this tenure, quality of services is not taken care of by the company, usually there is no response from the company end and there is a termination fee that is to be paid in case of ending the contract.

·         Configuration of Software interface: Though Hosted PBX providers reduce the complexities of the phone system to quite an extent, yet there are some problems that may arise. There are problems in the configuration that the users may face but most of the times; the functionalities of the system are configured by the technical team managed by the providers of Hosted PBX services.  There are some of the features that require multiple settings to be changed and this is why there are often problems for the end users.

·         Bandwidth of VOIP connection: Most commonly addresses problem with Hosted PBX VOIP channel is that when the calls are not delivered in a proper manner and there is jitter or improper quality of call, one sided call, etc. The standard requirements for the usage of this interface are either 3G or Wi-Fi connection. Moreover, the calling bandwidth should be separated from the rest of the operational bandwidth since a small overload of business operations can affect the quality of your calls as governed by the Hosted PBX providers.

·         Quality of VOIP calls: Jitter, call breaks and inconsistency in voice, etc. are some of the issues that arise when the call quality is not good. If your internet is capable of supporting all your Hosted PBX providers VOIP calls through the bandwidth allocated, then there are often chances that there is problem with the routes that carry these voice calls. The white routes and grey routes are the two types of business phone routes that are required for communication. Due to some reason, these routes may have inappropriate ACD and ASR and thus, they can be changed in order to ensure hassle-free calling to certain destinations.

Thus, there are many issues that arise in the hosted communication channel right from the start of decision taking to the final billing and usage of the services. It is thus recommended to choose your provider wisely so as to eliminate the chances of some of the mentioned problems. The others can either be troubleshot either by the employees or with some professional help.
